This step-by-step guide will show you how to use Aimersoft DVD Ripper for Mac to rip general DVD (copy-protected included) to various video or audio files for iPad, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune etc on Mac OS X. It includes two parts:

Part1. How to Rip and Convert DVDs to play on your iPad, iPhone, iPhone 3GS\ iPhone 4(4G), iPod, PSP, Zune etc. on Mac OS X?

 

Step1. Load DVD movies or IFO Files

Insert the DVD disc you want to rip, and launch Aimersoft Mac DVD ripper, then drag DVD directly to the program. You can also go to "File" menu, choose "Load DVD" or “Load Files" to Load DVD movies or IFO files from your hard drive.

 

 

Tips: This software supports converting by selecting chapters or customizes conversion time. If you just want a certain part of the DVD movie, you can check the chapters you want or trim the movie.

 

Step2. Choose the output video/audio format

If you don't know what format your device supports, you can select the format according to the name of your portable device. For example, click a small thumbnail (showing the original format) to select "iPhone 4" from the Format drop-down list when you want to rip a DVD movie for your iPhone. You can extract MP3, AAC, M4V or M4V etc from DVD movie too.

 

 

Step.3 Customize the output video(Optional)

If you want to customize the output video quality, click the "Options" button (from the pop up window after you hit format thumbnail) to customize output settings, you can then set video resolution, frame rate, bit rate, audio, etc. See the figure below:

 

Step.4. Select Subtitle and Audio
Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. Hit the hovering button to choose media information, and you can select which subtitle you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting "None", and the same to the Audio.

 

 

After the above steps, click" Start" to convert DVD movies. It will show the converting progress by Finished/Total. Aimersoft DVD ripper for mac also provide some preset function such as do nothing, shut down your computer or sleep your computer after conversion.
